Reedley College Softball Shows Offensive Promise Early in 2026 Season

The Reedley College softball team opened the 2026 season with an aggressive offensive approach and flashes of potential during a challenging early nonconference schedule. Through seven games, the Tigers hold a 2–5 overall record while posting strong team offensive numbers, including a .339 batting average, a .430 on-base percentage, and a .468 slugging percentage. Reedley has scored 42 runs over the opening stretch and has already produced two home runs.

Reedley began the season on a high note with back-to-back road victories. The Tigers opened the year with a 22–12 win at Cuesta, showcasing their offensive depth and ability to apply pressure throughout the lineup. The following day, Reedley earned another road win at Allan Hancock, securing a 16–6 victory in five innings behind consistent run production and timely hitting.

The remainder of the stretch featured a demanding road slate against strong competition, including multiple games shortened by run rule. Reedley faced the #1 ranked team in CA with San Mateo College and a solid San Jose in doubleheaders before concluding the road trip at #18 ranked San Joaquin Delta. Despite the recent results, the Tigers continued to generate baserunners and offensive opportunities, reflected in their high on-base percentage and run production against quality opponents. These tough games against ranked opponents will serve the Tigers well in RPI and preparation for CVC play

Through the first seven games, Reedley's offense has been a consistent bright spot, combining power and plate discipline to pressure opposing pitching staffs. With conference play yet to begin, the Tigers remain focused on building momentum, tightening execution, and translating their offensive output into sustained success.

Reedley will look to regroup and carry the lessons learned from a challenging early schedule into the remainder of the season as they prepare for upcoming matchups and the start of conference competition.

NEXT UP for the Tigers will be the Home Opener vs. Sacramento City College @ 2pm.  There will be a ceremonial grand opening of the recently renovated softball park at 9am. Come on out and join the celebration!
