REEDLEY, Calif. — Reedley College Men's and Women's Basketball teams delivered an exciting home doubleheader sweep on Wednesday night, earning convincing victories over Coalinga College and Taft College inside Reedley College Gymnasium.
Men's Basketball: Reedley 77, Coalinga 45
The Reedley College men set the tone early in the afternoon matchup, cruising past Coalinga College, 77–45. Reedley used balanced scoring, strong defensive pressure, and efficient shooting to control the game from start to finish.
Reedley jumped out to a 32–24 halftime lead before turning up the intensity in the second half, outscoring Coalinga 45–21 after the break. The Tigers shot 47.0 percent from the field and forced 13 turnovers while holding Coalinga to just 45 total points.
Several Tigers contributed offensively, led by Nassef Lubowa, who poured in 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting while adding six rebounds and three steals. CJ Kornegay Jr. followed with 11 points, while Luke Machnik knocked down two three-pointers and finished with nine points. Reedley also received strong bench production, with Isaiah Carter posting eight points and six rebounds, and David Jarmon adding six points and three boards.
Reedley's depth was on full display as multiple players contributed on both ends of the floor, helping secure a dominant home victory.
Women's Basketball: Reedley 80, Taft 74
In the nightcap, the Reedley College women battled Taft College in a tightly contested four-quarter matchup, emerging with an 80–74 win after a strong finish.
The game remained close throughout, with Reedley holding a slim 39–40 deficit at halftime before rallying in the second half. The Tigers outscored Taft 41–34 over the final two quarters, using clutch free-throw shooting and defensive stops to seal the win.
Raquel Cortez led all scorers with a game-high 26 points, attacking the basket and converting 9-of-14 from the free-throw line. Taylor Sutherland delivered a strong all-around performance with 19 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and four steals, while Chantel Rodriguez added 10 points on efficient shooting.
Off the bench, Taylor Rombaoa provided a spark with 11 points, including a key three-pointer in the second half. Reedley finished the night with 26 made free throws, proving decisive in a physical contest.

With both teams earning important home victories, Reedley College showcased its depth, balance, and resilience on January 21. The men's dominant performance paired with the women's hard-fought win capped off a successful evening for Tiger basketball and energized the home crowd.
