Reedley College Volleyball delivered a historic performance Wednesday night, toppling #18-ranked College of the Sequoias in a five-set comeback victory (25-21, 20-25, 21-25, 25-21, 15-10). The win marks the program's first victory over a Top-20 opponent since 1999, a defining moment in Head Coach Jennifer Uresti's revitalization of Tiger Volleyball.
After dropping the first two sets, the Tigers came back to extend the match winning set three. Moving into the fourth set they faced a daunting 11-18 deficit. What followed was a display of grit and belief that embodied Reedley's "ALL IN" culture—an inspired 14-3 scoring run turning the match on its head, forcing a decisive fifth set. Riding that momentum, the Tigers went point-for-point early before pulling away after the side change, serving tough and passing at an elite 2.53 average to close out the upset.

- Kenadi Walton (MB) powered the offense with 12 kills, hitting .267, and added 3 total blocks for 14.5 points.
- Paige Beard (MB) was a force at the net and the line, recording 10 kills, 5 total blocks, and 2 service aces, finishing with a team-high 16 points.
- Jennifer Ross (OH) contributed 10 kills and solid defense.
- Setter Gwyn Gilbert orchestrated the offense with 44 assists, while chipping in 2 aces and 12 digs in a complete all-around performance.
- Olivia Gray (OH) added 8 kills, 16 digs, and 1 ace, providing crucial two-way consistency in the clutch.
- Backcourt anchors Addison Waters (15 digs, 4 aces), Vanessa Villavicencio (8 digs, 2 aces), and Emily Enriquez (11 digs) combined to steady the serve-receive and keep rallies alive with timely defensive reads.
As a team, Reedley posted 47 assists, 13 service aces, and 10 total blocks, combining composure and aggressiveness to outlast one of the state's premier programs.
Coach Uresti praised her team's resolve after the match:
"This group refused to fold when it mattered most. They trusted each other, executed under pressure, and showed the heart of what Tiger Volleyball is becoming."
With the win, Reedley moves one step closer to playoff contention and firmly establishes itself as a rising contender in the CVC North.
Next up, the Tigers travel to Taft on October 31, to face another formidable, top-ranked opponent. Match time 5:00 PM.
