Women's Golf Team Win State Preview at Alisal River Course and Remain Unfefeated!

The Tigers won the State Preview Tournament at the River Course at Alisal in Slovang, CA This event showcased a fileld of 12 teams from the top six 3C2A teams from both NorCal and SoCal respectively. The River Course will be the site of the 3C2A State Championship on November 16th & 17th, so this was a great confidence builder for the Tigers.  This was a two-day tournament that mimics the state championship and the Tigers jumped out to a good lead on the fileld after day-1 with a 5 stroke advantage over 2nd place Modesto and 9 storkes over Orange Coast College.  Day 1 scores for the Tigers were as follows:

Day 1 - Team Score 332

Sarah Randolph: 84

Marissa Martin:  84

Jacie Johnson:  85

 

Day two proved to be a fruitful day, as the Tigers continued their steady play and improved their lead to 7 strokes over eventual 2nd place Orange Coast College.  Tessa Hernandez placed 3rd as an individual overall. This victory was their 11th staight, to remain undefeated this season.

Coach Stark stated, " It was great to be able to compete against the best teams in all of California, on a neutral golf course, and come out on top. It shows the depth of our team, and the ability to win away from our comfort zone. I was so proud of our team effort all around. What they've been posting all year has been impressive".

Next up for the Tigers is teh Jan High Invitational at Barley Cavanaugh GC in Sacramento on October 15th.  The team has five more conference tournaments before hosting the NorCal Regionals at Mader Golf & Country Club on November 9th & 10th.
