The Reedley College Tigers opened Central Valley Conference play in dominant fashion, earning a commanding 3–0 sweep over Columbia College on Friday night.
Set 1 showcased the Tigers' offensive power as Middle Blocker Paige Beard controlled both the net and the service line, tallying 4 kills on 9 attempts and adding 3 service aces to spark Reedley's early momentum.
In Set 2, the Tigers' backcourt shined with stellar serve receive led by Libero Vanessa Villavicencio and Defensive Specialist Addison Waters, who both recorded a perfect 3.0 passing average. Their consistency allowed the offense to flow smoothly and maintain control of the set.
Reedley sealed the match in Set 3 with another dominant showing at the net. Middle Blocker Kenadi Walton delivered an impressive .600 hitting percentage, collecting 4 kills on 5 swings with just one error.
Setter Gwyn Gilbert anchored the Tigers' attack with an all-around standout performance—distributing 25 assists, adding 2 kills and 3 service aces, and recording a career-high 17 digs on the night.
With the sweep, the Tigers start conference play on a high note, demonstrating balance, poise, and the "ALL IN" energy that has defined their season.

The Tigers return to their home court to kick off Week Two of CVC North play. Reedley hosts Clovis Community College on Wednesday, October 8 for their annual Dig Pink Match in support of breast cancer awareness. They'll close out the week on Friday, October 10, when they aim to "Black Out" Fresno City College in a high-energy conference showdown.
