On a sunny and warm morning in Palm Springs, with temperatures in the low 90's, the Tigers opened the 1st round of the Desert Classic, hosted by SBCC, with a very solid round of team golf. Reedley shot a team score of 335 at The Legends Course at Tahquitz Creek, leaving them in tie for 1st place out of the 9 teams at the tournament. The leading scorer for the Tigers was Freshman Serena DiMauro, who posted a great round of Even par 74. Serena made 6 Birdies on the day, and was the 2nd best score for the opening round. Freshman Maddie Caesar posted an 81. Freshman Eliza Hernandez fired an 87, followed by Freshman Lauren Costa's 93. The 335 team total placed the Tigers alongside SBCC (335) and ahead of Desert (340). Round 2 saw the Tigers play the Legends Course at Tahquitz Creek on a beautiful Saturday morning, with very little wind and temperatures in the low 90's. The Tigers played very solid team golf, shooting a score of 340. Leading the way for Reedley was the tandem of Serena DiMauro and Maddie Caesar, who both posted fine rounds of 81. Carley Lindlahr improved by 12 shots over her Round 1 score, posting a very good round of 88. Lauren Costa completed the scoring on the day by shooting a round of 93. The Tigers finished in a tie for 2nd place for the 2 day 36-hole tournament, and were better than 6 other teams from Southern California. Serena DiMauro finished as the 4th best scorer for the tournament and was selected to the Top 6 All Desert Classic Tournament Team!! It was a terrific tournament for the Tiger golfers! Next up is C.V.C. Tournament #1 at Fig Garden Golf Club on Tuesday. Fresno City College will be the host, and tee times are scheduled to begin at 12:00 noon.
