The Tigers completed a solid round of golf with a victory at Buena Vista Golf Course in Taft by shooting a team score of 366 (+6)! Weather for the day was very comfortable with temperatures in the lower 70's, but with some breezy conditions, and the Tigers were able to take advantage of their opportunities on the day and play solid golf and post some very good scores. Leading the way for the Tigers was Morgan Cooper, who posted a terrific round of 1 under par 71. Morgan had three birdies on his card for the afternoon! Beau Willett posted a very solid round of Even par 72, making 4 birdies on the day. Tommy O'Rourke and Bailey Flickinger both carded 1 over par rounds of 73. Dylan Otto completed the scoring for the Tigers with a round of 74. Taft College, the host school, was the next closest competitor with a score of 374, eight shots back of the Tigers. Fresno City College finished in 3rd at 378, followed by San Jose City College at 387, and in 4th place was Monterey Peninsula College with a 389 team score. The Tigers' win was the 6th straight Big 8 South Division tournament victory in as many tries, and leaves them with an overall record of 26-0. Next up is a tournament on Wednesday in Bakersfield at Rio Bravo Country Club. Bakersfield College is the host school for this dual team match. The format is an 18-hole stroke play tournament between the two schools. Tee time is set for 10:00 am in the foothills in eastern Bakersfield.
